In the past, phones had the option to hide phone numbers from Caller ID; however, newer models of phones don't seem to follow these settings. In response to the a rise in spam, automated calls, and phishing scams, manufacturers are slowly removing ways to hide phone numbers. This planned action aims to prevent voice phishing crimes and identify suspicious callers.
To verify Caller ID settings on Android
Open the Phone app, tap the three lines in the upper corner, select Settings, navigate to Calls > Additional Settings, and choose Hide Number.
To verify Caller ID settings on an iPhone
Open the Settings app, select Phone, go to the Calls section, tap Show My Caller ID, and toggle it off.
Remember: Older phones may have temporary caller ID blocking settings because to out-of-date software. It is possible for cellular operators to automatically force software updates or make an outdated phone model incompatible. In order to guarantee software compliance, phones are now automatically compelled to upgrade their software following multiple manual postponements.
Make a Private Call
On both iPhone and Android, you can place a secret call even if your phone doesn't have the option to automatically hide your number. There are three reasonable steps to take. Making a fake number is a third alternative, which is much easier than it sounds. The first two are temporary, but the third is more permanent.

Use Google Voice
A actual phone number can be hidden on Caller ID by using a Google Voice number. When you don't want to give someone your actual number, it also provides you with a number you can use. When someone calls the "fake" number, it reaches your phone. The person will see the fake number on their Caller ID when you call. Numbers provided by Google are easy to set up and free online voicemails are given.
